Psychotherapist for Self Worth & Relationships.

Hi, I’m Rebecca, “The Friendship Therapist” and I offer practical, down-to-earth & therapy for people who overthink, please & struggle to be themselves in friendships and beyond.

If you’re tired of worrying what everyone thinks and want to stop living in fear of rejection , I’m glad you found me.

Therapy in Glossop or Online

Its important you find the right therapist that gets you..here are signs we’re a good fit:

Would you like to...

Be present and stop overthinking your friendships and social connections.

Would you like to....

say no, prioritise your needs and put in healthy boundaries.

Would you like to....

be yourself and feel at ease in your relationships without fearing rejection.

As seen in...

Worrying what people think and feeling anxious in your relationships is usually a sign of low self-worth. You try to "just be yourself" or "stop overthinking" but it never seems to work. That's because it's not getting to the cause, which is why therapy can help.

A bit about me

I am a fully qualified BACP registered integrative psychotherapist and work online (so location isn’t an issue) but also offer in-person therapy in Glossop, Derbyshire.

I’m particularly passionate about supporting people whose relationships are impacted by low self worth because I know how it feels.

For years, I lived with a constant feeling of not being good enough, and worrying what everyone thought, which affected all areas of my life— especially in friendships.

Learning how to accept myself, care less about others’ opinions & feel secure in platonic relationships others changed my life.

That experience is what led me to train as a therapist specialising in low self worth and social relationships.

I live in a hilly, rainy part of Northern England (Glossop, near Manchester) and offer 1-1 sessions from my lovely therapy room in central Glossop but also work online, so have clients from all over the world.

When I’m not out enjoying my local hills, I’m at home with my family, making good food and listening to vinyl.

"I have always suffered with low self-worth and was my own worse critic. I tried therapy before but Rebecca's kind and practical approach had the best results. I use the exercises Rebecca taught me almost on a daily basis, helping bring a moment of calm and self acceptance when I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed by negative thoughts. I feel more positive about the future and would recommend Rebecca’s practice to anyone"

Cutting edge, Trauma-Informed Therapy.

If you feel anxious in your relationships and you never feel good enough, this isn’t your fault. It’s nearly always rooted in childhood experiences that taught you how to relate to yourself and others.

The therapy I offer helps explore how past experiences are affecting your present relationships and uses the latest evidence-based tools to overcome low self worth, feel more at ease in your relationships and create the future you want.

I blend the following practical, trauma-informed approaches:

  • CBT – helps you understand how your thoughts and feelings shape your behaviour and teaches you how to generate different perspectives.
  • Mindfulness/Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you give space to tricky thoughts and feelings, reduce overthinking and live by your values.
  • EMDR process traumatic memories from childhood that are keeping you stuck
  • Compassion Focussed Therapy uses practical tools to reduce self criticism and shame and increase self compassion.

I offer face to face therapy in Glossop but also offer sessions online and have clients from across the UK and all over the world.

I charge £79 an hour (discounts available e.g key workers, local residents, block bookings).

"Before working with Rebecca I felt crippled by lack of confidence and anxious about everything. Fear of making rejection stopped me making connections. Rebecca helped me understand why I felt how I did and then we worked together to build up my self esteem so that I felt more secure with my friends. I feel like a different person and am so glad I started this journey"
