CBT in Glossop

I offer CBT in Glossop as part of my overall therapuetic approach. 

 

 

CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and is an evidence based therapuetic technique, particularly effective for common mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, anger, stress etc.

 

 

 

It is based on the understanding that we experience mental distress due to how we think about things. However, how we interpret events is based on our own thought processes which can be changed.

 

 

In CBT sessions you with therefore be given homework to do which involves reflecting on events and how your intepretations of it impact on your feelings. You will then be asked to weigh up evidence and try to look at the event in a different way. 

 

 

I am trained to use CBT techniques and have lots of experience running CBT groups and 1-1 sessions for anxiety, stress, low mood and anger. 

 

 

I use CBT in Glossop in alongside mindfulness and compassion based interventions which combined together is very effective.
