Mindfulness Coaching
I provide 1-1 mindfulness coaching either online or face to face. To learn more about my workplace group sessions click here.
Mindfulness is a technique that enables a person to respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings by cultivating a curious and accepting response to them.
Why start 1-1 mindfulness coaching?
Mindfulness has been proven to be effective in helping people a wide variety of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and stress.
Although there are many apps available it can be best to learn from a trained teacher.
My mindfulness coaching will tailor the lessons to focus on what you want to improve (i.e stress or anxiety for example) and also give you a chance to ask questions. This way I can support you at every step of the way to ensure you can really benefit from mindfulness.
What will happen in Mindfulness Coaching Sessions?
We will start by having an initial chat to find what you want to gain from mindfulness. I will then tailor my mindfulness coaching sessions with those goals in mind. Each week I will explain a particular theme and how it relates to your goals and we will practice together. I will then send follow up emails to suggest practices to try in between sessions.
What will I learn in mindfulness coaching?
This can depend on what you want to focus on but the core skills are:
- How to increase awareness of the present moment in daily life.
- How stress impacts the body and how to use mindfulness to regulate it.
- Using the breath to focus attention but also to reduce anxiety.
- Accepting difficult feelings rather than reacting or avoiding them.
- Increasing kindness and reducing self criticism.
How much and how often is mindfulness coaching?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are usually every week or every other week for at least 8 weeks.
Sessions are £60 per week or £432 for 8 sessions up front (10% reduction)

About Me
I am a qualified psychotherapist specialising in low self esteem and stress as well as mindfulness teacher. I discovered mindfulness in my twenties as a way to manage bouts of depression and found it helped me get less caught up in unhelpful thinking. I have never experienced a low mood since.
However, life became more complicated the older I got and a stressful job, coupled with being a working mum, meant I experienced anxiety and stress. I then found mindfulness was really useful in helping me deal with this and through working at Mind was able to train as a mindfulness teacher. I have since done further training in self compassion and use specific mindfulness based practices to help people develop a kinder more accepting relationship to themselves in therapy and mindfulness coaching.
I live in the Peak District with my husband and 2 children.
