My Services
Counselling and Psychotherapy
I am a qualified counsellor and trained in a variety of therapeutic methods such as person centred; mindfulness and compassion based approaches, coaching and guided wellbeing (CBT based). I can therefore adapt my skills to meet your needs. See below for more information on the individual models and what counselling and therapy can be useful for.
In our therapy sessions I can provide a supportive and non judgmental space to help you explore the issues you want to work on to increase your awareness and help you come to your own solutions. However, I can also integrate appropriate techniques into the sessions to deal with specific issues or help you manage your mental health long term.

Mindfulness Services
I am a qualified and experienced mindfulness teacher and have worked with hundreds of people, in groups and individually, to apply mindfulness to reduce anxiety and improve mood. Whilst I use mindfulness in counselling where appropriate, if you are specifically interested in learning the technique on its own I offer focussed mindfulness sessions individually or in groups.

Therapeutic Models
A brief overview of some of the therapeutic models I use.
Person Centred Counselling
Based on the philosophy that we all have within us the answers we need and the ability to grow, person centred counselling aims to offer you the right therapeutic conditions so that you can increase your own awareness and come to your own resolutions. You will be listened to in a way which holds up a mirror so that you can work through your own issues at your own pace and decide what’s best for you rather than being given advice. Depending on what you bring we may feel it is appropriate to work purely in a person centred way or this can be used as a base on which to integrate other techniques.
If you feel stuck in life but do not know why or have experienced significant upheaval and need space to process emotions, person centred counselling can be very useful. However, it can also help people with a wide variety of mental health problems such as stress, depression, anxiety, anger, relationship issues, grief etc
Mindfulness & Compassion Therapy
Although derived from Buddhism, mindfulness has a strong evidence base and is used widely in health settings including the NHS. It helps people to manage their mood and emotions by being more aware of, and changing their relationship with, unhelpful thoughts and feelings. It is therefore particularly useful for anxiety, depression, stress, anger etc.
I teach mindfulness in an accessible and person centred way and have had a lot of success with people that have previously struggled with mindfulness.
Compassion Focussed Therapy draws on Buddhism, CBT and evolutionary psychotherapy to form a powerful evidence based model. It uses specific techniques so people can cultivate a kinder more accepting relationship with themselves. CFT is clinically proven to work with mild to severe depression, anxiety, anger, addiction and low self worth. It is also particularly useful for people who are prone to self criticism, shame or low self worth due to past experiences.
E-therapy
I use a variety of evidence based techniques that can be easily implemented in your own time to improve wellbeing. This includes CBT tools, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, activity planning, worry management etc.
Instead of having in depth counselling sessions, we can briefly explore your issues on the phone or email and you will be sent tailored and relevant information on a weekly basis for as long as you need. This is suitable for low level anxiety, stress, depression and anger.
